Take Your Own Medicine

I often joke and tell people that as a professional speaker and a life coach I could also be considered a pharmacist. A lot of people seek me for direction and I humbly offer advice, inquiries, and options for them to think about. However, like a pharmacist, I do not take the drugs I prescribe.

Don’t get me wrong, I have the symptoms. I could certainly use the assistance. But I would much rather help the next patient than myself.

So this week, this quote is for me. Because right now, I am the one who is stuck. I am the one who is comparing himself to others perceived success. I am the one who has a bunch of ideas and no action. I am the one who is not being the best partner because I cannot get out of my own way.  I am the one doubting. And I am the one not giving myself grace.

Pharmacy is a noble profession, but it is not sustainable if you never take your own medicine.
